Screenwriting - Shortlisted 2013
Originally trained as a professional dancer Harry’s work is shaped by the visual aesthetic of dance influencing the visuals in her films. Her next move into acting also had an effect on how she approaches dialogue and characters in her writing. Her first commissions as a screenwriter were for TV where she wrote for several series including Waterloo Road, Monday Monday and Totally Frank.
In 2004 she directed her first self-penned film Nits which involved the talents of cinematographer Brian Tufano (Quadrophenia, Trainspotting). The film was BAFTA nominated and won numerous awards as did Trip, her second short which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival.
During the past few years she has been developing two screenplays including Bill & Lena which was commissioned by the BFI.
