AOI Illustration Awards Exhibition at Somerset House

  • Highlights from this year’s shortlist and the winning work of contemporary illustration from the AOI Illustration Awards 2013 will be exhibited at Somerset House in London from 2 – 27 October.
    For the first time in the competition’s 37-year history, the shortlist includes illustrators outside of the UK to recognise the exceptional work produced by illustrators internationally and promote illustration as an essential contributor to global visual culture. Amongst the judges were Internationally acclaimed illustrators such as Stephen Collins and Ulla Puggaard alongside Art Directors from Walker Books, Royal Mail and Random House, as well as Creative Directors from leading design and digital agencies.
    A shortlist of 15 winners has been selected, from which two overall award winners will be announced in the categories of Professional Illustration, which is open to all practicing professionals, and New Talent, which is open to students and recent graduates.
    After Somerset House, the AOI Illustration Awards Exhibition 2013 begins a national tour, continuing into 2014. Venues confirmed include Blackpool & Fylde College, Swansea Metropolitan University, Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery and Guildford Museum. For more information go to
