  • SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED : Experimental Music Fellowship

  • Lina Lapelyte, Rie Nakajima, Richard Skelton and Jennifer Walshe have been shortlisted from a long list of nominated UK musicians for the 2014 Arts Foundation Experimental Music Fellowship. The recipient of the £10,000 award will be announced on the 23rd January at the Arts Foundation Awards with runners-up each receiving £1,000.

    The applications were judged by Brian Eno, Head of programming at Sound and Music Richard Whitelaw and Hamish Dunbar from Cafe Oto who said 'between us there was a fair degree of consensus on the final four who all represent slightly different things.We were looking for people that had a very strong voice but also that had an exciting and unpredictable potential of where they might go next." A concert of the shortlist will be held at the QEH, South Bank, London on the 14th January - tickets on sale soon!

  • Playwriting Panel complete

  • We are delighted to announce the panel for the 2014 Arts Foundation Playwriting Fellowship - the three are Gemma Bodinetz, AD of Everyman, Vicky Featherstone from the Royal Court and playwright Nicholas Wright. The award is supported by the Lionel Bart Foundation who support an award each year related to Theatre. The shortlist will be decided upon early October.

  • Musical's fellow Conor Mitchell at Edinburgh Festival

  • Catch new show 'Tell Me the Truth About Love' until 26th August at the Edinburgh Festival. Playwright Mark Ravenhill and composer Conor Mitchell bring together the four songs the pair wrote alongside new treatments for another four sets of lyrics by Auden, for which Britten's music is presumed to be lost or incomplete.   • World Premier of Wayne McGregor's Atomos in October

  • From the 9-12 October Sadler's Wells will host Random Dance in the world premier of Atomos, a new full-length work inspired by the structure and form of the atom. The production features a cast of ten dancers, set against a backdrop devised by a collective of hand-picked artists including longtime collaborators, lighting designer Lucy Carter and filmmaker Ravi Deepres.
