Fred Meller

Fellow in 2001 for Theatre Design

Fred trained at The Royal Welsh College and is now an established Theatre Designer, set and costume designer and Scenographer. Her broad range of work includes the RSC, Cardboard Citizens, The Almeida, Unicorn Theatre, The Watermill Theatre, The Nuffield Theatre, The Gate Theatre, The Royal National Theatre Studio, and Grid Iron. She is experienced in working in both traditional Theatres and in exciting and surprising performance spaces; with established companies, touring and with new projects.

Fred has exhibited at The Prague Quadrennial in 1999 and 2003, winning the golden Triga and was selected to exhibit at The World Stage Design in Toronto 2005. Other awards include The Jerwood Design award and Year of the Artist award. She is a Fellow of The Arts Foundation, and Lectures at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
