Alumni News: Tanoa Sasraku Shortlisted for the Turner Prize

Tanoa Sasraku  (Visual Art Fellow, 2021) has been shortlisted for the Turner Prize 2026!

We’re especially proud to celebrate Tanoa, who was awarded our Visual Art Fellowship in 2021, supported in partnership with our longstanding friends, The David Collins Foundation.

It’s been incredible to see Tanoa’s practice progress and continued recognition. It is a much-deserved nomination for the stunning and complex recent solo show, Morale Patch, at the ICA in London.

We’re also delighted to see Simeon Barclay shortlisted, who served on the Visual Arts Award jury this year, alongside the wonderful artists Kira Freije and Marguerite Humeau.

An exhibition of the artist’s work will be held at Teesside University’s MIMA, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, from 26 September 2026 to 29 March 2027. The winner will be announced on 10 December 2026 at an award ceremony at MIMA.

We wish Tanoa and all the artists the very best ahead of the announcement this year.
