The Arts Foundation is pleased to announce the third category for the 30th edition of the Arts Foundation Futures Awards 2023 is Digital Art.
The Digital Art Award focuses on artists engaging critically with technology and digital infrastructure and interrogating their impact on society.
The Award recognises the increasingly blurred lines between public and private space, both in real life and online, and how advancements in the digital sphere, such as increased surveillance, impact daily, civic life and democratic frameworks for governance, human rights, and freedom of expression.
The Award supports artists working in any area of the visual arts, new media and film and interdisciplinary art-form practices, with primarily digital means of production, including but not limited to, Interaction Design, Machine Learning, and AI, and their application in real life.
The Digital Art Award is supported by the Yoma Sasburg Estate.
In the coming weeks, we look forward to announcing this year’s independent Jury of artists and industry professionals who will select the Shortlisted Artists and winning Fellow.
