Lina Lapelyte features in winning Venice pavilion

In the Marina Militare next to the Arsenale, Lina Lapelytė along with Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė and Vaiva Grainytė  present a durational opera performance, Sun & Sea (Marina) for the Lithuanian Pavilion. As Artlyst describes, ‘While initially appearing light-hearted, this highly innovative take on the operatic form – described as “counter-monumental” and “anti-baroque theatre” – addresses some of the most pressing ecological issues of our time.’ The pavilion was curated by Lucia Pietroiusti, Curator of General Ecology and Live Programmes at the Serpentine and it is presented by Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts.

More information about this pavilion along with news about a recent bomb scare can be found through Artlyst :  https://www.artlyst.com/news/bomb-scare-shuts-lithuanian-pavilion-venice-biennale/

Due to this unfortunate news – the pavilion will only be open Saturdays at the moment. Might be worth getting there early to beat the queues!
