The Arts Foundation Futures Awards 2023: Bio Design Jury Announced

Each year we invite established industry professionals, subject experts and artists and creatives from across the UK to form part of the independent Jury that will select the Shortlisted Artists and Fellows of the Arts Foundation Futures Awards.

We are thrilled to share that the Arts Foundation Futures Awards 2023 for Bio Design Jury Members are:

Natsai Audrey Chieza  

Natsai Audrey Chieza is the Founder and CEO of Faber Futures. She is a leading thinker on the transformative role design can play in the equitable development of consumer biotechnology. With over ten years of experience co-developing multi-sector innovation strategies and shaping policy with global institutions, she leads a dynamic team that translates value and transforms systems across education, design, life science and manufacturing industries.

Leonie Bell 

Leonie Bell has been Director of V&A Dundee, Scotland’s design museum, since October 2020. As Director, she is responsible for leading the organisation from its spectacular home in Dundee’s reimagined waterfront, for delivering the museum’s vision to inspire and empower through design, and for championing design and designers and the infinite possibilities they bring as catalysts of creativity and change.

Sarah Wigglesworth

Sarah is director of her London-based architectural practice Sarah Wigglesworth Architects which she founded in 1994. Her work is acknowledged as a pioneering influence in British Architecture, and specialises in exploring the built environment’s role in addressing the ecological crisis. Winning many awards for its work, her practice has designed buildings for the educational, community, urban design, cultural and housing sectors. 

 

Entering its 30th year, the prestigious Arts Foundation Futures Awards support the UK’s most promising artists and creatives at a breakthrough moment in their careers with £10,000 unconditional Fellowships.

The Bio Design category Shortlist will be announced in January 2023. The winning Fellow receiving £10,000 will be unveiled at a live Award Ceremony in February 2023, with all shortlisted creatives receiving £1,000.

The Bio Design Award is supported in partnership with The David Collins Foundation.
