Eugenia Ivanissevich

Eugenia Ivanissevich’s work covers the genre of still life, the relationship between object and its image, collage and the production of zines and publications. She works across analogue and digital photography and is interested in the historical and ongoing intersections of sculpture and photography, using the camera to give permanence to temporary compositions.

She trained at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design on the BA Fine Art course (2003-06) and completed an MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art (2012). Born in the United Kingdom, she grew up in Buenos Aires and emigrated to London in 2001. She lives and works in London.

Her publication Con Sol. Con Agua was presented at Unseen Platform, Amsterdam (2019) and Offprint Paris in (2019.) She has participated in the publication Material / Immaterial, an experimental Risograph publication curated by Rodrigo Orrantia, presented in Les Rencontres d’ Arles, France and Offprint Paris (2018) selected best of 2018 publications by Emma Bowkett, photo editor FT Weekend Magazine. Exhibitions include: “The State of Things” curated by R. Orrantia for Landskrona Photo Festival, Sweden, (2020); Photo London (2015); (un)real: Abstraction in Contemporary Photography, Maddox Arts, London (2014); Pinta London (2014); Format Festival (2009); Centro Cultural España, Montevideo, Uruguay (2009). She took part of URRA international artist residency, Buenos Aires (2010). Awards include: The Arts Foundation Fellowship, Still life Photography Award (2013), Leica Prize, Runner-Up (2011); Format 09, International Photography Festival, Commission Award for Young Emerging Artist, QUAD (2009).

She is Personal Tutor on the MA Photography programme at the Royal College of Art since 2017 and joined Arts University Bournemouth as a Visiting Lecturer in 2017 on the BA Fine Art course and is Lecturer to the BA Photography course and BA Fine Art course since 2019.She leads independent workshops in the UK and abroad.
