Eleanor Long

Fellow in 2007 for Glass

Since receiving the Arts Foundation Fellowship in 2007, Eleanor has gone on to develop a rich and diverse practice. Her glass artworks continue to grace a number of public spaces and private homes, whilst her drawing, etching and model-making skills underpin all of her creative works. Working on site-specific pieces are a particular interest.
As a relatively recent development in her career Eleanor is also co-director of Tapocketa Studio; a fledgling animation studio. Her core inspiration of the natural formations and surprise elements of landscape and light flows through her collaborative work at Tapocketa. Also central to the work at Tapocketa are the values of intrigue, discovery, engagement and humor. Their first product is an animated children’s book (like no other!) called ‘Galdo’s Gift’. This digital book features fantastic moving illustrations, character narration, word definitions and funny verse.
Eleanor continues to be inspired to engage, entertain and enlighten others through her work.
